Goal:

Provides knowledge and practical skills to classify areas where explosive materials may exist, including the ability to gather and analyze data relative to explosion hazards, determine the extent of risk and establish and document zones.

Target group:

This course is for one who already had Ex basic training with decent understanding of Ex philosophy and

explosion protection methods

Subjects covered by the course:

Fire and explosion theory
Relevant properties of explosive gas/vapor explosive range: LEL, UEL.
Explosive material classification: gas group, dust group, T-class, Auto Ignition temperature.
Hazardous area classification according to IEC 60079-10-1 Ed3.0 2020, ISO/IEC 80079-20-1 Ed1.0 2017.
Identify flammable substance and its characteristics
Identify source of release, grade of release, release rate
Determine ventilation and dilution
Determine type of zone and extent of zone
Complete schedules and HAC drawings
Hazardous Area Classification practice.
